Bamboo's wide range of style and ease of maintenance give the
pro-bamboo crowd a lot to cheer about. Here's why:
1. Renewable Resource - Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants on
the planet, making for a self-regenerating and better alternative to
the world's depleting forest reserves. As a grass, it is harvested
again and again from the same plant.
2. Durability - 13% harder than Maple and 26% harder than Oak makes
bamboo flooring longer lasting. Bamboo flooring is a naturally water
resistant material so it does not expand or contract as much when
exposed to moisture. Hardness and resilience, a great combination.
3. Stability - Its natural make-up has proven it able to carry
countless times its own weight, and that converts into a flooring
surface which is virtually unbreakable.
4. Easy to Install - Using the tongue and groove method, similar to
hard wood flooring, Bamboo can be nailed or glued down.
5. Cost - Our flooring is imported directly from China and does not
contain markups through a distribution channel, therefore our
customers benefit from great prices.
6. Material Availability - Our bamboo flooring is imported in
container loads direct from the manufacturer in China and warehoused
in Saint John, New Brunswick so they will be immediately available for
our clients when they are required, no need to wait for supplies from
Toronto or Montreal distributors.
7. Adaptability - Bamboo can be installed virtually anywhere because
it is far less sensitive to temperature changes than many other
materials.
8. Style Points - From its mellow light hues and colors, to its widely
varying grains, bamboo can match almost any décor. Our flooring is
available in either a natural or carbonized color and in a vertical
and horizontal pattern. See web page for new color availability.
9. Radiant Heating - Strand woven bamboo is not designed to be used over radiant in floor heating.
10. Maintenance - A simple sweep daily and application of a mop once a
week is all that is required to keep the bamboo flooring clean, no
chemicals necessary to maintain the floor.
Bamboo flooring will qualify for the LEED certification rating system
in the following ways:
- MR Credit 6 (Rapidly Renewable Material)
- IEQ Credit 4 (Low Emitting Material)
